About Lainey

Welcome to Lainey's Light!  A place where we can get lit to our heart's content simply by reading and sharing words of authenticity. Here is a little insight on Lainey. She is a very family oriented person who also surrounds herself with close friends, animals, and nature. She has Bachelor’s Degrees in Cognitive Psychology and Sociology and has a Master’s Degree in teaching with an emphasis in ABA Therapy. She works with children who have Autism and related disorders, Down Syndrome (trisomy 21), Cerebral Palsy, and developmental delays.  Her heart has always gravitated towards people who love life and are unapologetically themselves. As she continued her professional journey, she felt a spark with reiki when she was gifted a reiki session at a Long Beach festival. It was life changing and the rest is history!

Writing has always been a secret passion of hers since she was 11 years old. She even started songwriting clubs with neighborhood friends during that time. In 2017 she started a blog, AlwaysLainey.blogspot.com soon after her mother passed away. Lainey's work is in large part, dedicated to her late mother.  Her newest blog, LaineysLight.wordpress.com began in 2020 to showcase her transition from hobby to professional writing.  These blogs are compilations of original poems to shed light on difficult topics illuminating tones of grief, love, strength, and resiliency.

Expanding her talents, she finally became a Certified Usui/Holy Fire III Reiki Master  in 2023. Growing spiritually and personally, she aims to spread love and light on a grander scale and will continue to grow as an energetic, physical, emotional, and happiness healer.
